PMO needs to set record straight

Whether or not the Speaker moves to clear his name is one thing, but the long-term impact on the party is quite another. Besides Casey's romp last fall as an Independent, and the four years Liberal Dianne Brushett held the seat, this riding has been a Conservative stronghold for more than a half century.

It will be interesting to see if this latest controversy does more damage to the party in the riding and whether the next Tory candidate discovers the electorate is not as forgiving or forgetful
