Hi Joe

Thanks for the outlet.    I dont say the things I say just to be against
something.  I do believe with all my heart what I say.   That of course is
quite often controversial and I do appreciate your site for supporting all
points of view.    I have been witnessing the past few years that in both The
USA and Canada that the noose is tightening on some of our Freedoms, both of
Speach and The Press. I have seen The Wars to End All War, come and go and I
see more coming.   So for myself I will say

I am tired and weary

But I MUST go on .        Thanks Joe

In an ideal world we would never have to ask our young men and women to go off to faraway lands to protect what we hold so dear.  While we may disagree with the politics or the politicians we should never question the duty, courage or loyalty of those who serve our country with modesty and distinction.   Thank you for sending out the timely emails to remind your readers to take 2 minutes in honour of those who sacrificed so much to ensure the freedoms we enjoy today.

=====
Thanks Richard . . . while not all support the missions on
which politicians send our troops as you say support for
those who place themselves ought not ever to be in question
 - nor to my mind questioned by those by those favouring the mission.

I dunno why but this poem came to mind I have no doubt
none but when landing "From wandering on a foreign strand!"
would feel "This is my own, my native land!"

        Joe

=====
I have never read that particular poem before, thank you for forwarding it
to me. After reading it, I was reminded of a quote I once read from Sir
Winston Churchill.

"Never, never, never believe any war will be smooth and easy, or that anyone
who embarks on the strange voyage can measure the tides and hurricanes he
will encounter. The statesman who yields to war fever must realize that once
the signal is given, he is no longer the master of policy but the slave of
unforeseeable and uncontrollable events."

the first bit sings about defending and fighting for the homeland -- presumably Iraqis and Afghans think so, as I'd imagine the Germans, Italians, Serbs, Russians, Japanese, etc thought so too....

Dear Ed

Re Dumont plays identity card
Nov 12/08 Editorial - Online Edition

I too see the political motive behind the ADQ leader's "return to our roots" idea.

It's Pride & Hope. And why, not it worked for Mr Obama!

I think instead of "outing" Mario as a charlatan & vote-seeker, you are exposing your paper's adherence to the Fabian/gradualist approach to indoctrinating Canadians to the "we don't need G*d, we ARE gods" humanistic philosophy of life and governance (aka a religion).

This is a true observation - you can deny it all you want (experts say that's the normal first stage)

Not to worry, Mr Obama is onside with you too (perhaps it's just the spiritual thrust of the plan to Unify North America).

Fortunately for all of us, there is no shame in turning back, when you realise you are on the wrong path.
