What is Health Ministry doing to reduce deaths from pharmaceuticals?
Open Letter to Tony Clement
By Online  Wednesday, November 19, 2008

Dear Mr. Clement,

During an all candidates' meeting last month, I stated that in the entire 50 year history of Canada's health food stores, there have been zero deaths from consuming products purchased in these stores.  You took issue with this statement and stated publicly that you had to get involved because of deaths from consuming "toad venom".

Mr. Clement, toad venom has not now nor ever has been sold in Canadian health food stores.  If you have documented proof to the contrary, kindly provide it now.  If not, then I respectfully request that you issue a public apology for your misleading and defamatory statement.

It is estimated that over 10,000 people in Canada die annually from side reactions to their prescription drugs, correctly prescribed and correctly administered.  The Chief Economist of each province's Health Ministry can provide these figures.

You repeatedly stated during your campaign that Bill C-51 was vitally important to protect the public from harm from natural health products.  Yet C-51 does not apply to prescription drugs.  What is your Health Ministry doing to reduce deaths from pharmaceuticals?

Yours most sincerely,
David W. Rowland, Leader, Direct Democracy Federation

To Joe
From Rene
re; Zeb Landon's, Banking regulation promoted by Harper/Flaherty
government. November 16th Daily Digest.

I would put it to you that the world-wide agenda of giving
self-regulation to financial entities is far, far, beyond any single
government, except that world corporate has been able to insert their
own moles into the offices of Flaherty and Harper.

Consider instead that most of the  world has shown  how big the problem is

When I was in  Britain about 5 weeks ago it was in the papers,
along with the news of the financial  collapse, that there was an
entity that had been formed called the  Financial Services Authority,
and that it was  formed to give self-regulation to the financial
business.  In today's , 18/11/08, Toronto Star, page b2, ' Kuwait's
Bank's derivative loss prompts board to quit,' We find that they
have, surprise, surprise,  a Kuwaiti Investment Authority!

Since the word Authority has shown itself to mean 'self-regulated,
with no government over-sight, (e.g.Greater Toronto, and Vancouver,
Airport Authority, Ontario Power Authority, Algonquin Forestry
Authority, Toronto Conservation Authority, etc.,etc.,  should we be
concerned when in the same Toronto Star, same page, same date, under
'Traffic slows in Suez Canal, the term comes up again as the 'Suez
Canal Authority'.

So, Zeb, I would say, such corporate moves are far beyond  Harper
and Flaherty.  Finding their moles, or implants in their offices
should not be much of a problem once we admit to the possibility of a
5th column manoeuvre.

Hi Joe - It is certainly an invasion of privacy and that is according to federal and provincial laws. Why are they not under the same laws as with all businesses, schools, health authorities and others who can in the course of their work, collect personal information. Provincial agencies such as human rights and child advocates or for that matter schools, are all subject to privacy laws. They must inform their clients, what they will do with the information collected and have the client signed, acknowledging and given the agency permission to collect the data. They must explain what they will do with the information. As for a political party collecting information beyond name and address without informing the person who contacted them, is dodging the laws of privacy. I would not want, if I contacted a MP's office, that the information given freely would be used in a way where my personal information would be used for other purposes, other than the intended purpose; such as sorting out a problem with Canada Revenue. I would not want this information being used to notify the local riding association of a potential donor to the Conservative party. I expect the information to stay with the MP, Revenue Canada and myself. For a sitting government to use these types of tactics, is an abuse of power and position.

To GG Schramm: Conscription, a strong reserve process to draw from and than in the next sentence,  you state " I want to encourage you to give the poor and disadvantaged a regimented structure which does not undermine the educational product of our current leaders and icon's."

What exacting are you advocating for? From what I can understand, the solution that you are calling for, is take all the poor and working poor and put them into the armforces. Conscription only for peoples whose income and education falls under a certain level, to protect the educational products of our political leaders and icons. You should explain yourself, because I be damn if I would allow myself to think that our political leaders and icons are above the Constitution of Canada.

Government Bailout Follow up

Today's blog is a follow up to our blog on Friday, November 14th. The potential news of a government bailout for North American car manufacturers generated a great response from NCC members.

One NCC supporter asked that we follow up with General Motors of Canada to get their input and response.  The response, which you can read here verbatim, shows what GM is doing to make themselves competitive in these turbulent times.

Now that we have presented both sides of this argument, we would like to hear from you.

What are your thoughts on GM's response to our blog?

A new study published by The Open Atmospheric Science Journal says the concentration of CO2 in the planet's atmosphere has reached the point at which irreversible changes to climate start. Even if the concentration of carbon dioxide is lowered from its current level in record time, the catastrophic effects will still occur. The scientists give us about 30 years till the end of the planet to which humans are adapted.
Webmaster's Commentary:
"And only massive funding for more research and a carbon tax can SAVE YOU FROM SLOWLY CHOKING TO DEATH IN ENDLESS AGONY!!!!!!"

I know many were displeased to see Harper back as PM. There is good in all of what took place if you care to look. He now has to work to improve matters or even those who voted for him wont the next time!

Sure it would have been nice to see him turfed but NOW he has to rebuild matters. Letting a new government run the show only proves we the electors have no brain. It is up to Harper and his MP's to prove they can run our country.

No-one wants what has happened! The fact is Harper has every Canadian to appease now.

We do not need Busch style politics and we know Harper's nose is brown... Not from the sun rather from kissing ass of one he admires. Busch will be gone soon enough... We though have to put up with Harper! Good.... He has to appease all Canadians not just those who voted for him. If he fails he and his Party are history.

Now it means Harper cant lord matters over us on the belief he is God. Prove just how good you are to this country now or forever be put in the dark!
